Market Art Fair is the leading contemporary art fair in the Nordic region Initiated in 2006 by galleries representing the Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, the fair has become a trusted meeting and market place in the heart of the Nordic art industry. We will celebrate the 90 years of Erró by showing a selection of his works from different series. Erró, pseudonym for Gudmundur Gudmundsson, is the Icelander who moved to Paris and became one of the founders of the French Art Narratif movement, reflecting the PopArt in the United States during the 1960’s.
During the same period he was encouraged by the Swedish museum director Pontus Hultén, who took him under his wing. Erro’s works are shown at museums all over the world and in 2001 a permanent exhibition dedicated to Erró was installed at Reykjavík Art Museum.
Erró was one of the first pop artists we started to work with during the 1980’s and we would like to honor one of the most important Nordic artists with a solo booth at Market Art Fair 2023.
