Kast's Kaleidoscopic Debut at Salone del Mobile.Milano (16-21 April): Concrete Wash Basins at the Intersection of Art, Design, and Wellness

Renowned for its contemporary concrete washbasin creations, UK-based Kast is poised to make a significant impact at the upcoming Salone del Mobile.Milano, following its acquisition by global lifestyle brand and leader in kitchen and bath products Kohler Co. in 2023. Taking place from April 16-21, this event will mark Kast's debut at the International Bathroom Exhibition, presenting a diverse portfolio of sculptural wash basins in a display that promises to explode with colour. Visitors have the opportunity to intimately experience the unparalleled craftsmanship and innovative design inherent in Kast's products as they are showcased within an immersive booth titled "Unchartered Waters," crafted by the international design studio Yabu Pushelberg. Inspired by the fluidity of water, this exhibit is a convergence point where art, design, and wellbeing intersect.

Kast’s latest collection Holm, is set to take centre stage, introducing a fresh style dimension with a terrazzo insert—a testament to the fusion of materials and creative vision. Inspired by the timeless allure of terrazzo, Holm seamlessly integrates its speckled visuals with the refined tactility of concrete. The showcased basins, Anno and Mesa, transcend mere functionality, transforming into artworks that embody Kast's dedication to staying ahead of the curve. The terrazzo insert serves a dual purpose by not only enhancing the aesthetic appeal of Holm but also discreetly concealing the basin waste, infusing a touch of minimalism and fostering a streamlined appearance. The collection is meticulously designed to offer versatile installation options, and for added convenience, the insert can be effortlessly removed for cleaning purposes. Alongside Holm, Kast will showcase the following basins from its extensive portfolio of designs in its most vibrant palette, including Forest, Heather, Ember, and Crimson:

Aura
With its minimal form enhanced, Aura presents as a slim, pill-shaped basin featuring subtle contours and an offset vanity space adorned with a ribbed surface pattern. The vanity insert discreetly conceals the waste, further contributing to its sleek aesthetic. Aura Pedestal Minimalist yet striking, the Aura Pedestal is a freestanding basin with a contemporary ribbed surface pattern, making it a captivating centrepiece for luxury bathrooms or powder rooms.

Iva
Iva is a curved concrete trough sink inspired by Art Deco design, boasting a corrugated outer surface pattern and incorporating a recessed vanity space, rendering it suitable for both wall and surface mounting.

Rho
Elegantly curved and practical, the Rho countertop basin boasts ample inner depth, ideal for surface mounting.

Luna
Compact and semi-circular, Luna features a refined fluted pattern on its outer surface, making it perfect for either wall or surface mounting.

Elm Mini
Introducing a modern twist on the traditional bucket sink, the Elm basin range boasts a pin stripe pattern enhancing its vertical profile, suitable for wall or surface mounting. The Elm Mini offers a compact version with the same distinguished pinstripe, curved corners, and integrated splashback.

Prim
Playfully practical, the circular Prim countertop basin exhibits an organic form with soft rippled edges, suitable for surface mounting and designed for use with a wall-mounted tap.

Tilde
Tilde, part of Kast's newly introduced Wave Collection, offers a free-flowing, sculptural reinterpretation of the traditional bucket sink, complete with an integrated splash-back featuring a soft wave and scalloped basin edge.

As part of Kohler Co.'s Luxury Brand Division, Kast will exhibit its products at the Kohler Co. Booth [A38-A40] in Hall 6 of Salone del Mobile.Milano's International Bathroom Exhibition, held at Rho Fiera Milano. Kast will be joined by Kohler Co.’s brands Kohler, Kallista and Klafs with thoughtful displays throughout the booth showcasing the latest technology in wellness design, from sleek faucets and fixtures to luxurious bathtubs, futuristic showers and innovative saunas.

Yabu Pushelberg’s design team comments on the booth design, “By carefully modulating colour temperature, we accentuated key features and moments of the booth, inviting guests on a journey that seamlessly transitions from one atmospheric moment to the next.
