Why has the market for 20th-century design exploded the past ten years? Which fields in design are on the rise? What will be the best buys for tomorrow? How to combine design with art?

These and many other questions will be answered at the third TEFAF Art Symposium 'Addicted to Vintage: Trends in 20th-century Design.' Leading international interior designers, design experts and journalists will contribute to this highly fashionable part of the art world.

British-born journalist, author and design expert Ian Phillips will kick off the symposium with an overview of the market for 20th-century design. He will touch on differences between the USA and Europe, important interior designers and the evolution of prices of various design objects.

Cédric Morisset, journalist, author and Head of 20th-century design at PIASA auction house and Ian Phillips will discuss the current trends in the design market. Morisset shall touch upon questions as: what are the best investments for in the future? Who are the names in the contemporary design market to look out for and is a chair really worth 21.9 million euro’s, like the Eileen Gray chair sold at the Yves Saint Laurent sale?

A panel of leading interior designers Joseph Dirand, Chahan Minassian and Pierre Yovanovitch will give insights in why they are addicted to respectively French mid-century, Post-War American and Scandinavian design. How do they integrate vintage design in classical or contemporary interiors, which pieces are most sought-after and who are their favorite designers?
